Lynwood, CA – James Griffin, Flavio Balderas, One Other Killed in South Gate Crash on State St near Tweedy Blvd
Lynwood, CA (February 6, 2023) – Several people died as a result of a traffic accident that took place in the South Gate area on Sunday morning. On February 5, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of a major collision on State Street.
At around 2 a.m., a vehicle was attempting to flee the police when the driver caused a collision between two sedans and two other vehicles on State Street in the area of Tweedy Boulevard. The four vehicles were severely damaged as a result of the accident.
Two people were pronounced deceased at the scene. The victims were identified as 20-year-old James Griffin and 60-year-old Flavio Balderas.
A third victim was rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that the victim, identified as Michaela Balderas, passed away after arriving.
One other person was admitted to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
