Car Accidents in California
A car accident can change your life in an instant. In just a few seconds, you could experience intense physical pain and emotional trauma that makes it difficult to work and enjoy the activities you used to love. Unfortunately, every year in California, over 200,000 people face severe injuries from motor vehicle accidents. Even though there are many laws meant to keep people safe, these accidents continue to happen for different reasons.
One of the major problems in California is drivers who ignore traffic signals and run through stop signs at intersections. This careless behavior, especially running red lights, creates a serious danger on the roads and often leads to accidents. Another big issue is when drivers do not yield the right-of-way, especially at intersections. This failure to yield often causes significant collisions that could have been prevented.
Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is not only illegal but also extremely dangerous. Drivers who are impaired often struggle to stay in their lanes and have slower reaction times. This greatly increases the risk of accidents, even if they are not speeding or running red lights. Sadly, a large number of crashes in California are caused by intoxicated drivers.
In addition, drivers who do not yield to others when turning or merging into traffic are a leading cause of accidents in our state. These drivers often cause collisions because they fail to notice other vehicles that are approaching. When this lack of attention is combined with impairment from drugs or alcohol, the risks on the road become even higher.
