Car Accidents in California
Every year, thousands of people are hospitalized with significant injuries due to motor vehicle crashes in Southern California. Unfortunately, these accidents tend to occur as a result of drivers who engage in negligent actions. When negligence is a contributing factor to a motor vehicle accident, injured victims are able to pursue legal action against the responsible parties. Some common causes of auto collisions in California include:
Recklessness: When drivers are speeding or engaging in other reckless actions, they cause significant injuries to other drivers sharing the road. Unfortunately, we see many accidents caused by speeding.
Driving while impaired: When motorists consume drugs or alcohol before entering the roadway, there is a high chance that they will be unable to maneuver their vehicle in a safe and effective manner. Unfortunately, nearly 1/3 of all fatal collisions are a result of impaired drivers.
Distractions: Distractions continue to be the leading factor in motor vehicle accidents across Southern California. Unfortunately, distractions are everywhere. Drivers can get distracted by engaging in conversation with passengers in their vehicles, changing the radio station, or using their cell phones.
