Car Accidents in California
Every year, car crashes in California leave tens of thousands of people injured, many with severe injuries requiring extensive medical care. Unfortunately, several factors contribute to accidents occurring at intersections throughout Southern California. Some of the primary causes of these collisions include:
- Distracted driving: This is a leading cause of car accidents, with the widespread use of cell phones contributing to the rise in distracted driving incidents. When drivers divert their attention from the road, even momentarily, they significantly increase the risk of causing a serious car accident.
- Running red lights: Another common factor in intersection accidents is drivers running red lights. Attempting to beat the light not only violates traffic laws but also poses a grave danger to themselves and others on the road.
- Making improper turns: Improper turns, whether due to failure to signal or illegal maneuvering, are frequent errors leading to intersection accidents. These mistakes can easily result in collisions.
- DUI/DWI: Driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI) are significant issues on our roads. Impaired drivers struggle to focus on the road and make sound decisions while driving, increasing the likelihood of accidents.
