Los Angeles, CA – Five-Car Pileup at W Florence Ave & S Denker Ave
Los Angeles, CA (February 21, 2024) – The Los Angeles police department and firefighters were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in the Vermont Vista neighborhood and ended in injuries.
Police reports show that at approximately 11:10 p.m. on February 20, five vehicles collided on West Florence Avenue. Authorities arrived at the scene and shut down the roadway near South Denker Avenue. Emergency crews remained at the scene for a significant amount of time as they worked to clear the road. Upon arriving at the site of the crash, authorities found a white sedan off the right side of the roadway.
A second sedan, which was silver, came to rest on the left lane of the road after striking a black pickup truck. At least one person was injured in the accident. Medical personnel responded to the scene to care for injured victims and transport those in need of further care to area hospitals. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
We hope the victims hurt in this crash are able to recover quickly.
Car Accidents in California
Tens of thousands of vehicle collisions take place in the state of California every year. In many instances, people are left with severe injuries that require medical attention. As you can imagine, when trains are involved in these devastating collisions, victims are more likely to suffer more significant injuries.
There are a number of reasons why the severity of injuries is dramatically increased when cars crash into trains. First, trains are much larger and heavier than cars, so the force of the impact is much greater. Second, trains are not able to stop as quickly as cars, so they often hit cars at full speed. Third, because trains travel on tracks, they are less likely to swerve out of the way of an oncoming car, meaning that the collision is more likely to be head-on. Finally, train cars are typically made of hard materials like metal, which can cause serious injuries or even death if a person is hit by one, even if they are inside a vehicle themselves.
If you have been harmed as a result of a car crash, you may be able to take legal action against the person who is responsible.
