Long Beach, CA – 14 Hurt in Bus Crash on South St at California Ave
Long Beach, CA (November 10, 2023) – More than a dozen people were injured as a result of an automobile collision involving a bus that took place in Long Beach during the afternoon hours on Thursday, November 9.
At around 3:15 p.m., the Long Beach Police Department responded to a crash that occurred on South Street.
According to reports, a Dodge charger blew through a stop sign at the intersection of South Street and California Avenue during the afternoon hours. As the vehicle proceeded forward, it broadsided a bus that was traveling through the intersection.
The impact of the crash sent the charger barreling into the side of a building, causing significant damage. Both parties suffered injuries as a result of the accident.
Two people had to be extricated by firefighters from the sedan. Twelve people on the bus were injured. All of the victims were rendered aid at the scene. Nine of the injured victims were transported by ambulance to local hospitals.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
